Memphis Interfaith Coalition for Action and Hope (MICAH)

MICAH (Memphis Interfaith Coalition for Action and Hope) brings together churches, synagogues, mosques, and community groups across Memphis to work for racial and economic justice. This diverse coalition identifies pressing local issues—from education equity to criminal justice—and organizes public forums and town hall meetings to spur action. MICAH members have hosted sheriff accountability meetings and mayoral candidate forums, creating space for marginalized community voices to directly question leaders:contentReference[oaicite:7]{index=7}:contentReference[oaicite:8]{index=8}. By uniting Black, white, and Latino congregations, MICAH builds collective power to hold officials accountable to promises. The coalition trains ordinary citizens in advocacy and regularly turns out hundreds at City Hall to demand fairness. Through these faith-rooted gatherings and campaigns, MICAH is shaping a more just future for Memphis. Learn more on the MICAH website.
