About the Show

The Format

What Happens on Stage

Finally present and willing to be addressed by their constituents, elected officials from the local, state, and national levels are charged with toeing the line that "Everything is great!" — and so our game begins.

Through various rounds and challenges, our moderator — Mr. Dark Money — awards and deducts campaign contributions, as the threat of GITMO looms. The audience, the citizens of AnyTown, bring their real questions and concerns. As our stand-in politicos improvise an answer, your jeers, boos, and laughs prod them along.

From real issues submitted and asked by the audience, to redemption groveling, corporate sponsor auditions, surprise guests, and various happenings — it's a hilarious evening of improvised comedy and real community catharsis.

  • Mingle with civic-minded friends
  • Engage the effigy of your elected officials
  • Laugh as comedians are put on the spot
  • Discuss real issues, real problems, and both real and ridiculous solutions

Civic Context

Real Action Under the Banner of Fun

While this show is good fun chaos for any political stripe, the issues raised and catharsis we seek to provide are very real. We keep an open door to involve those undertaking the constant work of real-world civic-advocacy.

We're proud to have "Everything Is Great" as an official licensing partner of Laughing Impact, a civic-facing arts project that produces participatory live events in partnership with grassroots organizations; allowing the show to connect the catharsis of the moment with the advocacy groups who move real world change. Each Laughing Impact event includes a performance, pre- and post-show engagement with civic groups, and digital media to deepen public understanding.

We invite civic and grassroots groups to reach out to Laughing Impact, who coordinates these associations and produces those events.
